One of Hildur´s bloopers...

Ok... we all know that I can be a little unlucky and spaced out at times. This good old story popped up today while I was talking to some people at school, Hildur´s great mishaps, and I though I would share it with yall.
So a couple of days after the Halloween party that FSHA organized, one guy from school called me and asked me to publicize on the internet that his friend had lost an Ipod during the party and wanted me to put a "lost" article in the news section on our homepage. I of course forgot to do this since my head was not connected to my body because the Jessup competition was getting oh so close. Not only did I forget to put the news in, but I also lost all the information that he had given me. Then one day I was sitting in the FSHA office looking out the window and I see this guy whose information I had lost through the window on the other side of the building. I of course jumped out of my seat as fast as I could, ran down the hall not wanting him ditch me, caught a glimpse of him and started calling "Siggi!!! Siggi!!! SIGGI!!!!" He casually glimpses at me like I´m a lunatic, but I of course think that he just didn´t hear me so I call again "Siggi!!!" and grab him by the shoulder and turn him around and as I do that he makes eye contact, looks at me like I am LOCO (spanish for crazy) and says "MY NAME IS GUNNAR!" I of course tried to save my ass by saying something so dumb like "uuuhhh... you mean like Siggi Gunnar?!"
So I basically ran down the hall of the school screaming/calling this guy and running after him... CALLING THE BLOODY WRONG NAME.
MÚAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!!

gobble gobble last saturday

So "late Thanksgiving" was held in the home of Hildur Sólveig on Saturday. Yes, Hildur had a Thanksgiving dinner and MADE IT ALL BY HERSELF!! Turkey, gravy, mashed potato etc. etc.!!! It was soooooo good. Nothing like a turkey dinner! My turkey looked like this.

Mmm.... deliciouso! AND TONS OF LEFT OVERS, so if you want some turkey you know where to find it!!
Well, I have to get going. I´m taking two courses at the moment, a workshop and a course where I´m supposed to be working on my BA thesis. Loaded man, totally loaded ;)

My tarot card...

Well guys... this says it all... What great things the life has in store for the devil. great. just great.

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

and on she babbles...

Do you know what I cannot stand... more than anything... being pissed off. I think it is one of the worst feelings that I can ever get. Why? Because when I get pissed off, I start to feel these pangs of conscience (samviskubit) for being pissed off. How lame is that? Why can I not just be pissed off in peace eh?

My winter wonderland...

Thought I would throw in a picture and show you all how much snow there is in Akureyri right now. Not only is there tons of snow... but it´s HELLO cold too. Yesterday it was like -15 degrees celsius... I stayed inside basically all day... not due to a hangover... but due to the cold. ;)

and here´s one of Anna on her way to school...

and one of the pretty sun-set

By the way... it´s starting to get dark here around 4 p.m. That is such a bummer. Good thing I´m going "home" soon... I cannot wait!

another thursday... but at least I wrote on monday!

Okay, and this is even unplanned! WHAT IS IT WITH THURSDAYS?!!?!?!?!!?!?

Well, here´s the news... We didn´t win HÍ. What crapy news eh? Well, at least we did a good job... they were good.. we should´ve been better. ;)

So I´ve just been completely brain dead since we got home. It probably doesn´t help that it has been snowing 24/7 since Sunday. So basically, it´s a winter wonderland here in Akureyri and Hildur´s little head (oh how incorrect that is... considering my head is the size of a basketball) is off in some other place... full of marshmellows and snowmen that walk around with black hats on their heads. Beautiful!! I thought I would do a nice gesture today and decided to gather some crumbs and throw them on the snow on my balcony to feed the birds... to get in the magical snowland mood... but none came... I wasted several slices of bread for the birds that never were... clever girl. But seriously, Anna and I could make a snowhouse on our balcony if we could get open the door. Whereas the snow is blocking the door, I don´t think we´ll make an attempt, unless we get snow-house crazy. Then we´ll do it. My friend Hilmar and his girlfriends son were throwing snowballs at me and Dagný when I got home today... I was about to tackle Hilmar and sit on his back with his face in the snow until his nose fell off... but I didn´t. Thought I would be the bigger man and not part-take in such non-sense... cough cough.

Really don´t have much to say... I feel like my blogs keep getting more borring... considering the comments I get I have a feeling like no one is reading this stuff...

SHOW ME SOME LOVE PEOPLE!

another thursday...!?!?

Ok... I don´t know what´s up with the thursday thing... Maybe when I realize that it´s been a week since I wrote last time, I start to get a little nervouse and feel some sort of obligation to write. ;)

So the big 80th birthday party in Suðureyri went really well! IT WAS SPECTACULAR! The old man was so happy and the whole family was soooo glad to see each other. I will tell you, all of the cousins... my cousins and I and the rest of all of us... THE FAMILY... are all such good friends! If I could could get a dollar for all the parties that have consisted basically only of family... I would be a rich rich rich girl. WHAT IS MY POINT? when you are in a place that consists of 350 people... you have no friends other than family ;)

So Jessup is on Monday... MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY... I think of this day and I see doomsday! No, just kidding... we´ve been getting some good practicesi in and all so It´ll be really fun to see how we do... cross your fingers!!!! And all of you who are in RVK on monday... I think the competition is supposed to be around 17:00, COME WATCH US!

love you all <3,
Hildur Sólveig

My life sucks at the moment...

Oh my God... I have to write something so you people don´t think I´m dead or stop visiting my blog... the things I have to do to keep you guys interested in me ;) Harhar!
So there was an earthquake today... we were sitting in the classroom and felt the building move. It was pretty cool and was most definitely a first. The earth moved under my feet ;) Speaking of earthmoving events... NONE OF THOSE HAVE HAPPENED LATELY. Yes, I tell you all the truth. My life consists of Jessup, Jessup, Jessup, Class, FSHA, FSHA, FSHA, JESSUP, CLASS, JESSUP, JESSUP... I do believe I have made my point.
I´m going to Suðureyri on Friday morning... I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! A weekend away from Akureyri is just what I need at the moment... just what I need... and not to mention seeing the ENTIRE family there!!

**The old man is turning 80, my most favouritist old man**
