sunny today... cloudy tomorrow?

When I was younger I saw a tv show where a kid had a rubberband ball. Yes, a ball made out of rubber bands. You find a rubber band, you add it to your ball, your ball grows bigger. I wanted to start my own rubberband ball. I searched the house for rubberbands, stole some from the teachers desk at school, but that wasn´t enough for me to start my VERY OWN rubber band ball. Some other kids who also decided to start a rubberband ball (obviously the cool thing to do) had all gotten so much further than me in their collection so I did the only thing left to do. I made my mum drive me to the store to get "school supplies" aka RUBBER BANDS. Yes, and I bought probably 2 packs of 100 rubber bands. Screw finding the damn things. Why waste time when you can just buy them?

This got me to thinking what an impatiant person I am. When I have a brilliant idea I want to engage in it asap. Maybe not even asap, rather PRONTO. Too bad those ideas aren´t always as well thought out and planned as they could be and at times even seem like pretty stupid ideas. But now I ask you, do we think too much about the decisions we make? Is it such a crime to be sparatic and live in the now? I don´t think so, but the me tomorrow might not agree with me. The me tomorrow will kick me in the shins for making hasty decisions, sparatic decisions, stupid decisions. That´s why I like the me today!!

Live for today for tomorrow might be cloudy.

I am one happy camper

Oh so many new things are happening to me these days...

*I am a proud Apple owner... that is to say... I am the owner of a MacBook. A black one to be precise... very pretty.

*I have started jogging with a group called Eyrarskokk. We run around Akureyri like chickens with their heads cut off. Very pretty.

*I signed myself up for a clay-class today, that will hopefully start next Monday. I don´t think very many people have signed up and I think that´s what´s causing the delay. Hopefully I will make something... very pretty!

Sara´s birthday party was on Saturday. It was basically the very pretty group of girls and the exchange students. This group is very fun and exciting. All least the ones that were at the party. I want to thank Sara for a blasting birthday party. What a host!

Take your problem to the source.
(hmm... now it´s time to wonder who the source is... is it you yourself?)

Gullible or just so completely rational?

I´m thinking about taking a ceramics class here in Akureyri. It´s 2 x a week from 19:00-22:00, for 3 weeks. I´ve always been quite a sucker for ceramics classes and ever since my ceramics class in high school I´ve been longing to play on the wheel again. I mean, making beautiful sculptures and bowls that collect dust in your mothers cabinets... the perfect present! ;)

However, whenever I think of "throwing on the wheel" I always get to thinking about Ghost. Yes, Ghost, the movie with Patrick Swazye and Demi Moore. I wonder, how many girls and women have tried the wheel because of that movie? I bet tons think it´s oh so romantic and let the movie completely influence their decision to throw some clay. (I use the term "throw" because, if my memory serves me correctly, throw is the correct term for working with clay on the wheel) That´s why I´m doing it... it´s been a while since my ghost held me oh so tightly... the damn clays fault!!

AND Yes I have another example. Take Dirty Dancing. What girl didn´t dream about going with her family to some lame ass resort where she would meet the man of her dreams and sneak out in the middle of the night to go dance with... oh yet again, Patrick Swazye?!? And do "the lift" in the nearby river? And you know every girl wanted to learn the Samba after watching Dirty Dancing.

Maybe Patrick Swayze has that affect on us. Maybe we´re just gullible. Who knows.

A man is not the reason for our decisions, but can have a hell of a lot of influence.

What´s in a name?

I got to thinking about names today. Some of us have many names while some of us only have a few. I for example have quite a lot of names, some that I am proud of, some that I am not so proud of. Nevertheless, they would be considered my names. The reason this has popped up is due to the fact that I only write Hildur Sólveig on facebook because those in the States know me as Einarsson, while those in Iceland know me as Elvarsdóttir. Not a double personality, nothing to do with the CIA, just a quick adjustment my family decided to make so that the entire family would have the same last name in the USA. Sounds pretty logical, except for the fact that now I cannot write my full name because then people will not know if it´s me or, well, not me.

Therefore I got to thinking about names, my nicknames and I thought I would write them down. Enjoy.
Hildur Sólveig Elvarsdóttir, Hildur Solveig Einarsson, Hildy, Hil, Hitler, Helter Skelter, Hilla, Hidda Bidda, Pumpkin, Soccer Ball Head, Freckles, Hildur, Sólveig and last but not least, Haulder.

Isn´t it strange having someone look like you?

trying my best

Hmm... no comments yet... maybe people haven´t realized I´m back. HELLO! I´M BACK!! Did anyone hear that? Then I will just shed a tear. Psshhh, nah.
I just wanted to boast a little and tell you all that I have passed my first course in my Masters of Law. I am oh so happy about that!! Thanks for the support guys! Now I just have to tackle Tort Law / Skaðabótaréttur. The book is approximately 2 inches thick and a bunches of pages. BUNCHES! My aunt Lilja and I are going to a country dance/ horse herding/round up party on the 29th in Varmahlíð. More news on that later.

and the words of the day...
Sometimes you just can't get him out of your head...

Is the lady back yet?

Am I returning from the dead? Maybe, maybe not. We shall see how good I will be at writing here. I was for a while thinking about stopping this blog non-sense, but then things like snow on September 16 happens and I just feel like I have to tell the internet world about it ;)

So yes, it is September 16 and it is snowing outside. It´s snow of the wet non-sticking kind, but snow non-the-less and therefore I find it very interesting.

School has started and already one course is over and done with. Well, lets hope so. I´m still awaiting my grade in Contract Law. Overall, school is all right. A little overwhelming but all right. I will make it... damn it :D

Oh by the way, I took a tarot card test to see what tarot card I am, like I did before (don´t know if you guys remember) but yes, once again, I am the Devil. Always a good sign eh?

And finally, I have decided that I´m going to try to have a "saying of the day" with every blog I post. Sometimes this will be the only thing I post. Isn´t it great to have me back???

Life is what you make it.
