23 December 2004

All right! So, back again! SKIING WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! Wow, the guys were great, saw a couple of stallions, 1 snow bunny (seriously, there was a guy dressed in a bunny suit) and a whole shit load of snow. I think that bunny guy was wearing the Easter costume, hmm... we'll never know now, since i didn't ask him. The main goal for the guys during the evening hours was to go to a bar and find some snow bunnies. I showed them the guy in the suit, but that's obviously not what they were talking about. I'm so confused. Hehe, no... they talk about bunnies, i talk about stallions. We all had an understanding of how the system works. :) Um, since i've been back i've just really been hanging out. Not doing much at all except for rotting at coffee houses with Anna and Leah. Arnþór is convinced that there's some coke in the coffee... he really doesn't understand why I go to Aroma's like 2 times a day. The mysteries of Hildur. But maybe there is some interesting point in Thor's inquiry. Maybe not, we'll never know. Well, this blasphamous writing is giving me a headache... so i think i'm going to stop. Tomorrow is my Christmas! I can't wait.... i've been singing WHAM! all day :)

"Last Christmas I gave you my heart

but the very next day you gave it away!"

Cruel cruel people, hehe MERRY CHRISTMAS!

XOXO Hildur

Everything is WOOHOO!

ALL RIGHT! WooHoO! So i'm back home! Úfff you don´t know how good it feels to be back! I´m flabergasted cuz i´m so excited! This morning, I woke up and it was light outside... 7 o´clock and light! OH MY GOD! So good to be out of the dreary darkness. Not only was it light outside, but I also actually spoke to people! yes, my friends, you heard right, PEOPLE! not were these people only people, but they were my FAMILY. Oh it was so nice and homey! Today I just kinda hung around, until I went to Aroma´s (coffehouse in Colonial Williamsburg). Oh, funny story. On my way there, I had to get gas. Pull up to the pump, look for the button to open up the gas flap (don´t know what it´s called), but to my surprise, there was none. I was seriously sitting in my car trying to find the damn button for like 15 minutes! I kept thinking to myself, "hmm... it´s probably soooo obvious, but i´m to disturbed to not see it", so I (feeling like a complete dumbass) ask this guy (a mexican who didn´t really speak english) to help me find the button. He was hopeless so I just said thank you and called my dad collect on the payphone! HOW PATHETIC IS THAT! And to my surprise, he said that there is no button (yeaps, figured that out myself) and that I just needed to push on the flap. TECHNOLOGY THESE DAYS! Unbelievable! haha! Yea, so I went to Aroma´s and sat there chillin, drinking my latté, and drawing, when no one else but LEAH came! WOOHOO! I was so excited that... um... I just couldn´t hide it! So, we drank some teath staining coffee, chatted and just enjoyed the moment, when no one else but ANNA shows up! WOOHOO! I tell ya, what a good day! awwww... :) So, now i´m waiting to go to my brothers violin concert... that little mozart... and then i´m gonna call my bizes up. Tomorrow I go on a weekend trip with my bro to go skiing! WOOHOO! It´ll be a blasted blast! I´m so excited! UGH IT WAS SO GOOD, AND STILL IS, TO SEE MY FAM! best feeling in the world!

a penny saved is a penny earned

All right... so i'm ALMOST done with school! WOOHOO! i took my 40% exam yesterday, wrote about the barbaric invasions of the Germs and so. It went fine... cross my fingers...! So yesterday there was a cocktail party at KB Banki, a bank here in Iceland. The law students were invited to the bank, where they introduced a little bit why lawyers were needed in banks and so. They also freshed us up with red wine, white wine, beer and snacks. I tell you, I most definatly think we should invited ourselves to KB Banki a little more often! IT WAS GREAT! Free party night! Didn't have to worry about buying beer or nothin. "KB Banki, they're GRREEEAATTT". Oh can't you see Tony the Tiger saying that in a suit with a breafcase in his hands? Well, those of you who can't, suck. Hehe no just kidding. After the cocktail party, I changed and went to a birthday party. It was so much fun! Haukur had a karaoke party going on and, no... I didn't sing. That comes as a surprise! Knowing me, I would have thought I would be singing waterloo, dancing and going crazy. Well, I did all of that anyway, except sing waterloo... I'll just leave that to ABBA. Of course I had to show my skills on the guitar and play "ÞAÐ BLANDA ALLIR LANDA Á SÚGANDA", crazy skills on the GuItAr. Then, I went to Amour, sat there and watched my FAVORIT trubador play!!! HE'S SO COOL! Haha, didn't get his number though... haha Sólveig! Oh, something exciting... Sólveig and I are getting an apartment in January! FINALLY I GET TO TALK TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN MY COMPUTER! woohoo! I´ll have to keep ya´ll posted with news on that. Well, I´m kinda worn out from last night, so I don´t have much to say... and what I say is fairly dull... so I think i´ll stop torturing you all.

Ain't no sunshine when it RAINS

So, lovely day today here in Akureyri, wind blowing, ice melting and practically no daylight at all. Oh how the weather in Iceland is unbelievably good. YEA RIGHT. You know, i'm not kidding when i say it didn't get light at all, because it did't. And now, at four o' clock, it is dark and dreary, raining and just wet. Wet wet wet. I was contemplating this morning if I should buy iceskates, because I was slippin and slidin the whole way to school. It's unbelievable what we vikings have to put up with. Haha, I even started thinking, because I do so much of that on my walk to school, how "cool" I would be if I would show up to class with iceskates flung around my shoulder. Further into that thought, I started laughing... realizing that if I would pursue my idea, I would most likely fall, stab myself with the skate that were flung around my shoulder, and die. Hmm, best leave that idea only in my head... oh the great things that I come up with! :) (even though I would look awesome with my skates)!!! So, I think I should get a medal. No, not because of my brilliant idea with the skates, but because I conquered my bed this morning and was able to get to class! WOOHOO! Only about 15 minutes late (we'll blame that on the skate-less walk to school) ;) Oh, I forgot to write about the SPLENDID and most beautiful concert that I went to last Thursday. The concert: Eivor Palsdottir, who has the most beautiful voice ever!! Seriously, when I left Græni Hattinn, I was in a trance. Her voice is a beautiful piece of art... if you can say that. Sure, it´s my sentence, I say what I want. On the way home, Sólveig got to hear my constant squeeky voice describing everything, oh and i mean EVERYTHING, which I thought was great. And when I wasn´t talking, I was speachless! It was LOVELY! Haha, and when I parted with Sólveig, I sang the whole way home, trying with great passion to hit the pitches which she sang, which turned out to be an ungodly act of me... but hey, it made the ICE under my FEET start cracking!! Maybe that´s a method of survival which I should continue to pursue... especially when I´m walking my ass to school. Then there´ll be no falling for Miss Hildur...

13 DAYS!!! bed FiGhTs and frost...

OH i can´t wait to go home. THERE´S NO PLACE LIKE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!! Ahhh... this is seriously starting to become an obsession. I can´t fall asleep at night because i´m starting to plan what i´m going to do while i´m home. Take the dogs to cw, go get coffee, and sow. Knowing me, i´ll probably only spend 1 day in sowing, won´t give a damn about the dogs, even forget to feed them, and sit all by myself rotting at the coffee houses. Haha, no just kidding, I think i´m going to have a blast. Relaxing and stuff. Oh, so something good happened today.... an essay which I though I was supposed to hand in tomorrow isn´t due til after a week! Ha! God must be playing with my head, I must have hear wrong. The Christmas spirit must be in my stallion of a teacher, haha! no, he´s a great teacher, just feel a little guilty because i haven´t been showing up too often. Actually, I´ve barely been showing up at all. I tell you, every single morning I have a terrible terrible fight with my bed. I hit it, bite it, and yell at it to let me wake up and go to school, but where as my strong will is just not AS STRONG as the will of my bed, I usually sleep through lesson and just go up to the school library. The battles which one must go through every day. It´s not strange though that one does not want to wake up, I mean, it doesn´t get bright til around 11, and before then, all you can hear is the wind blowing and the frost forming on your window. No desire to go into the cold I tell you. And also the fact that I have to walk 15 minutes to get to school just destroys my will. Oh how my life is hard... wah! haha just kidding.

Well, 13 days til I go home! I´M SO DAMN EXCITED! CHEERS!
