JUNE ALREADY??

WOW... ok sorry. I have been incredibly blog-lazy these past several months and I have not had any desire to blog. Sometimes there´s just not that much to say. Well, I usually have tons of things to say... but whether I really want the whole world to know about all the pointless information/non-information aka ramble that I think about and comes out of my mouth... it is probably not wise.

What has happened lately? Well, an Icelandic national holiday was on Sunday. The day of the fisherman. Actually, I have no clue how it is translated but lets just call it that. Considering how many fisherman there are here in the "northern-westfjords" I was quite surprised how easy and calm the weekend was. (Yes, I was working) BUTTTT... the people here in Suðureyri know how to party and they did so. And did it well with a country/cowboy themed evening. That was Saturday night. Then on Sunday the towns-people went to the harbour and played some games and had fun. Those who decided to go all out were still drinking at 16:00 on Sunday. As I said, the people in Suðureyri know how to party well. I dragged my fisherman to the harbour, then to drink coffee at grams and gramps´ house, and then he took me (along with many other people) sailing for about an hour and a half. It was really nice. I´ll have to post some pictures.

Today Bjarni and I went fishing. What fun things we can do in Suðureyri. He caught a haddock about <--------------------> this big... I caught a haddock about <---> this big. All in all they were very little and we threw them back in the ocean and asked them to send us their great grandfather (hence a larger fish). That didn´t happen, but it was worth a try.

My birthday is in 11 days. Then I turn 23 years old. All presents should be sent via mail, not pigeon.

MUCH LOVE

MAy day

Mmmm....

It´s May already. Whoa Nelly!!! Time sure does fly! I cannot believe that I´ve been working for 5 months already, been school-less for 5 months, haven´t seen my Williamsburg girlies in 5 months, haven´t seen my Akureyri girlies in oh... 6 months... I also cannot believe that Sólveig Fríða and Stína are still living in the wild world of Europe and I cannot just go to Reykjavík to see them.

I was in Reykjavík two weekends ago and I really didn´t know what to do with myself there. Of course I had a blast seeing Friðdóra, Örn and the twins, and seeing my parents (although my pissy mood got the best of me... oops)... I really didn´t know who or what to see. I tried to go shopping and ended up buying running shoes but that´s really it. A bit strange.

So, I am still looking for an apartment in Akureyri, one that is dog-friendly. My dad doesn´t understand what dog-buying nonsense has gotten into me, my mams completely understands, I think it makes complete sense, Bjarni thinks that it is a waste of money. Sometimes a little puppy is just the bundle of joy that makes your day. Yippý skippý!

Well... I´m rambling on... hope to hear from some of you soon!

Male chauvenistic pigs...

I found this picture on the internet, um... well actually on perezhilton.com (where I get my gossip), and I couldn´t help but get a little bit pissed. Maybe I´m a bore and don´t get good humour, but I don´t understand why Hillary Clinton needs to be depicted so rediculously, a woman wearing a nice dress clothes and BAM POW KAPLUNG these huge ass breasts knock your eyes out! Finally when there is a strong and determined female putting herself out there and running for office in the "land of the free", the "land of dreams" and the "boiling pot" of world, people find the need to belittle her and put some huge ass boobs on her to make sure people what... know that she is a woman? Do toys of men politicians have extremely large packages, aka penises and balls, so that we can be 100% sure that that toy is supposed to be a man?

Don´t get me wrong... I love being a woman, I love having breasts and love my femininity... but do toymakers (I guess these are "adult" toy makers... in the non-XXX way) seriously think that by throwing a pair of huge boobs on a toy Hillary Clinton is the only way in which people will realize that the toy is her? If so, the makers of the toy are doing a terrible job and need an imagination that sees women as something else than just breasts. ERRRRRR!!!

The feminist has just about had enough male chauvenism! Please have in mind that I am not talking about all men... I am not bashing every guy out there... I´m not necessarily ridiculing guys, just people, men and/or women who have a need to label other people e.g. by sex, color, occupation etc. The point with this article is this: People are people regardless of their gender. We can all learn a little something from each other, after all, we are not perfect. We are also not all the same because if we were, we would be robots and dull and borring. Instead of bashing each other for being different, lets try to learn something new that we didn´t know before and try to use each others strengths to get us farther in life. Let us just be civilized, understanding, respectful and kind.

I mean after all... THE YEAR IS 2008!!!

ciao,
-the ever so annoyed feminist-

picture post!

This blog entry is going to be a so-called picture post. A picture will appear below, along with a small text describing the beautiful picture. Always fun to do something different, besides, I owe some people some pictures!

Here we go!

BUCKLE YOUR SEATBELTS!

I had to wake my dad, my uncle and Arnthor to get my car back on the road. Some individuals were more concerned about the status of the car rather than the status of their daughter.... cough cough. I guess he could just "see" that I was all right. But... these brave men saved my day!!!

I would say that that slant is approximately 45%!!!!

This is Sallý. She´s the bitch that got to hang out in my bed. Not many dogs are special enough to chillz in my bed ;)

The landscape here in Suðureyri is beautiful!! This picture is taken on one of my walks...

And my handsome father who is in Brazil as we speak with the little one, Einar. Sure hope they are having fun...

Well, that´s all for now! Hope to hear from you all... some of you.... anyone... ;) You guys are so much fun!

ciao

Howdelídódellí

Quick post... quick post

So, the first thing on my mind... I´m thinking about buying a Yorkie! The wee puppy would be ready maybe in August... born in June! OH WOW!!! That means that I would have to stay in a dog friendly apartment in Akureyri. Would that be so hard to find? We shall see. But yea, I´m definitly thinking about getting a puppy ;)

Number two on my mind: I´m lazy. It has been a while since I´ve gone to the gym and I don´t like it. I feel like a blob. Like gak (the nickelodian goo that only USA kids would know about).

Number three... I can´t believe I haven´t posted this on my blog yet... but my dearest friend Anna is getting married after a year or so!!! 2009!!! CONGRATS BABES! I´m going to have to find a super fun picture of you and post it in the near future!

Four: Taxes get me nervous! I was "doing" my taxes on Monday/Tuesday and I nearly had a nervous breakdown.... nothing serious, just some unnecessary panicing going on. Oh the way I lose it sometimes ;)

Five-er-ínó: I wouldn´t mind some sun. Sun sun sun here we come. Hmm... which gets me to thinking... in the Beatles song "here comes the sun" why does it say "sun sun sun here WE come..." Why do the people have to go to the sun rather than the sun come to them. I mean, who the hell goes to the sun, unless they are talking about going to Jamaica or something where they are actually following or traveling somewhere nice and warm and sunny to be able to be in the sun. I mean, the guys are from Liverpool. I will draw the conclusion that the weather in Liverpool is like the weather in London = RAIN AND FOG, and then I guess I would understand that line in the song. BUT if it were my song, I would most likely have the line be "sun, sun, sun here we travel around the world in order to go to the tropics and have your light shine on us because it does not do so in Liverpool." -Just a thought....

my job description

I found this on some AOL page. This is supposed to tell me what kind of job I´m supposed to have. The name of the article was "hot jobs for your horoscope"... I wonder if all gemini´s are like this? I think this horoscope is telling me to try to make it in ceramics. Hildur the clay molder. What do you think??

Gemini (May 21-June 21)

Your traits: enthusiastic, communicative, optimistic and intellectually curious. You are full of passion and energy, and have a voracious appetite for new experiences.

Compatible Jobs: Since you crave intellectual stimulation, look for jobs that allow you to continually learn new things. Consider a career in academia, research, investigative journalism or fields that require travel. Geminis are often good with their hands, and therefore might consider working in construction or carpentry.

Famously successful Geminis: John F. Kennedy, Henry Kissinger, Marilyn Monroe

Sooooooorrryyyyyy!

Oh what happened to my enthusiastic writing abilities? Well, sometimes I just don’t have much to say, sometimes I’m lazy and don’t want to write, sometimes I just don’t feel like it. But like right now, when I start, I can’t stop... I just need to write more often.

Anywho... sorry for not writing... it happens to the best of us.

Easter, Easter, Easter. Yes, this was the big Easter weekend and this little lady was working. Day shift. Soooooo... worked a lot, slept very little, ate tons of candy and tried to make the best of it. Was I successful?? Ehhhh... no comment. But yes, here are some notes:

1. The rock festival “Aldrei fór ég suður” was on Friday and Saturday... went fairly well although I only saw 2 bands play

2. One pick-up truck ended up in the ocean... no one got hurt

3. I got two Easter eggs... one from myself

I locked my car keys/ house keys in the house this morning on my way to work, had to call my uncle, wake him up and run up the hill to get the spare-keys. Not good. This was at 6:30 a.m. The day after Easter is a holiday here so… um… yea… woke him up damn early. Then he drove me down the hill and I was happy. Got to work a tad bit late but nothing to cry over…

Oh… something I was always going to tell you all about… I had a little car mishap several weeks ago where my car had a mind of its own and wanted to go a little off-roading. So, the Sizzler and I ended up sliding off the road coming home from work and got stuck. Stuck stuck stuck. It took 2 cars to drag me up. I am going to have to post some pictures in the near future. Be patient. ;)

Well… This is it for now… Hope everyone had a great Easter and ate a lot of candy. I did. Múahahahha!

What color is YOUR aura??

So the other day I went to the witch store (which store? THE WITCH STORE!) here in Ísafjörður. There they have all kinds of fortune telling books, how to read tarot cards, inscense etc. and then one book caught my eye, Aura reading for beginners. I picked it up, read the back of the cover, took it to the cash register and bought it. So... Lilja my aunt and myself will be reading everyones auras in a few weeks. If you don´t want us to know how you feel... then avoid us. Wait, NO DON´T! There´s not that many people around here who I hang out with... so please don´t avoid me, just tell me not to read your aura! PLEASE DON´T LEAVE ME GUYS! haha!

Hmm... other news. I was thinking about going to Reykjavík tomorrow but I think that idea is dead due to the fact that the "old boys" police soccer team is competing on Friday and Saturday and I´ll probably have to work on Friday. We shall see...

It´s snowing. I don´t know if that´s news to anyone... but... it´s still snowing.

Oh... more news! My partner´s leaving me. Yes, he´s off to Sheep River Hook. Not good... not good. Some blame my bad jokes, my singing and my hyperactivity. I don´t. ;)

Well... that´s it for now. I have noticed that NO ONE comments on my blog anymore, I´m most likely to blame since I went many weeks without blogging. BUT IF YOU READ THIS, I really wouldn´t mind a comment or two (not two from the same person... that would just be crazy).

just a little input

Yet again, we have a school shooting in the US. This time the state of choice was Illinois. The lucky state of Illinois was pulled out of the candy bag and stuck in the spoiled child’s mouth and chewed and chewed and chewed. It’s only a matter of time until all the states are going to be in the spoiled fat child’s mouth, all shaken and devastated because of the spoiled child who wants and asks for more and more and more. Now who is this spoiled child?

The child could be the government of the USA. The government that stands firm on the idea and its decision that gun control is bullocks. That according to the second amendment in the Bill of Rights of the United States written in 1791, let me say again… THE YEAR 1791… people have the right to bear arms in the United States of America. And by God, we do not dare amend that amendment because then the red neck, hillbillies, gangsters, hoodlums, terror stricken people that feel obliged to keep a gun in their nightstand to “keep out” the people who have guns, might object. BUT DO TELL ME….

What kind of impact would gun restrictions have on these situations? If people would have to fulfill greater qualifications in order to obtain a gun, what kind of impact would that have? Why is it that John Smith, who has mental health problems, can go out to his local gun store and buy a gun? Buy a gun and not have any training or have to take any course in order to get a gun license?

I am in awe. I am pro gun restriction. Get rid of the bloody gun.

Hildur... can now phone home

My phone is not lost... despite prior announcements! I found it in a pile of snow. Must have fallen out of my car, aka I dropped it, when I was getting out of it last night. I found it this morning and I am very happy and relieved! So guys, you no longer have an excuse to not call me.

I´m back!

I guess it is time to jot a couple things down... eh?
So, my loooooong winter break was fantastic! I did nothing. I drank beer, hung out with the boys club and did nothing. Oh so chilled and I loved it! Loved loved LOVED it! Thanks guys! I also got to see Lindsay and Nolan and I swear to God we are talking about such a cute little family! He pissed on my bed... but I do not care... he is so cute! ;) Best of wishes to Lindsay!

So I am back on the klake... Suðureyrar city. It is going well. I´m working a lot and loving not having to study and be stressed every single day! A total 180 from how it was before. The "simple life" can be good! ;)

Friðdóra and Örn had two baby girls! CONGRATULATIONS! I cannot wait to go to Reykjavík to see them! That is the next thing on my to do list!!!

I´m going to a Þorrablót, an Icelandic holiday where we Icelanders eat sheep’s head, sour sheep balls, shark, dried fish and much much more! Doesn´t it sound spectacular? Anywho, this pagan holiday is on February 2 in Suðureyri. It´s going to be a blast! Cannot wait! All kinds of old traditional Icelandic food. Some find it nasty... but the nastiness of the food and the mood it creates makes it all the more fun! I´ll have to take pictures of the sour sheep balls for you all.

Otherwise I´ve just been hanging out... taking the dogs, Sally and Sóldán (pictures will come later), on great, mind easing walks. Oh the great outdoors. My best friends: dogs. Hildur the allergenic girl and the dogs. What a match!

Well... I will post again soon... hopefully! Pictures will be coming in soon... Although I have been saying that for about a month now.

Tata!

one day I'll fly away

As I am writing this I’m either floating over Boston, New York (because I am soooo fancy) or some very unimportant town/village/burg, waiting for the stewardess to answer my call. I either want a beer, a cup of coffee or water. She does not want to answer my call, has not answered my call for the past hour, and if I push and push and push, pretend to be choking and fall down in the middle of the aisle, I don´t think she´ll answer me! Ok, a little dramatic, but you catch my flow. Maybe if Í decide to only drink water or coffee she will come answer my call. Please lady, I am soooooo bored here. And what do I do in my boredom? I blog… Hildur Blog! (hey, if you say that like the MC Hammer song, “what time is it? Hammer time” but rather “I blog” for “what time is it” (just say bloooooooog to try to fill in the extra time) and then “Hildur Blog” for “Hammer time”. I AM SOOOOOO COOL!

So, I am pretty excited to get home! Cannot wait to finally “get there”. Making my way to BWI isn’t the headache, it’s getting to the diiiirty burg, aka Williamsburg, that is the pain in the ass due to… TRAFFIC. Yes, the reason I live in Akureyri is to avoid the time eating monster called Traffic every…. single… day. We don´t have that problem in good old Akureyri. I would jump out of my car like it was a hot potato if I were stuck in traffic there… park it, jump out of it and walk to point X. In Akureyri the only traffic I wind up in is the parking lot by the school, trying to worm my way in and out of rows because people don´t know how to park. Háskóla-menntað folk kann ekki að leggja. (I won´t translate that.)

Yaddíyaddíyaddíyaddí…. How could I have forgotten something to read?!?! I hate it when I do that! AHHHH! And they were showing HAIRSPRAY on the plane. Shoot me. Ikkk, íkkkss, achhhh, úúúúhhhhh. The stewardess was playing charades a while ago, actually trying to act a bottle of liquor. Nobody understood what she was trying to say, and I told her she must be terrible in Actionary. Maybe that’s why she’s not answering me. Damn you lady! I PROMISE TO ORDER COFFEE!!!

So… my weekend in Reykjavík was good. I met up with Sara of course and also my cousin Sólveig Kristín. She decided to misuse and abuse my poor cell phone while flirting with med-students left and right. I actually had to knock a few off her (cough cough… hahaha). BUT that was not all, no no, Sólveig was working it that night… the little lady was a busy little bee… she had a whole group of guys from England (?) crawling all over her and I do believe she was able to hook one from France also. She was on fire. And I got to play in the ashes! CINDERELLA! CINDERELLA!

I admit I am gonna miss my Akureyri to bits! HUGS AND KISSES TO ALL MY LITTLE AKUREYRINGA! You know who you are… yes you do…. yes you do my pretties ;)

The stewardess finally decided to answer my call and brought me a cup of coffee. I rang my little button like a billion times but only did she notice that the red button was turned on when I had already ordered my coffee. Now she thinks I’m rude, making fun of her Actionary skills and impatient. She probably spit in my coffee.

"And keep your eyes wide, the chance won´t come again..."

*
And now comes the blog that everyone has been waiting for...
*
The times they are a changing in the life of Hildur Sólveig. A new leaf has been turned and personally everything is upside down, inside out or a different color all in all. Which isn´t a strange feeling once I describe the events of last week.

On Thursday last week I decided, alone in my apartment, that I did not want to continue studying law. WOW. Now, I know many of you will think, "Hildur, it´s only 2 more years" and to my defense I will say "2 more years of self pity, unhappiness and going with the flow just to go with the flow...". I for one, am not like that and will choose happiness and a path with which I believe has a meaning for me. So the following day, Friday, I signed myself out of two courses and was therefore officially done with school. And now comes the but. BUT, I have not quit school all together. No, no, no, this little dove isn´t finished yet. Next fall I will study Polar Law at the University of Akureyri. and get my ML (Masters in Law) in Polar Law, and then I will continue my battle to change the world. Yes, change it.

Now, what will I do since I don´t have a purpose anymore, since I am no longer the law student that I have been for 3 1/2 years, now that I am no longer going to school every day and studying (or worrying about not studying) every breathing moment? I will do what every stable, clever, and well-rounded person does. MOVE TO THE WEST-FJORDS!! Hahahahaha! Yes ladies and gentlemen, the dove is turning into a swan and spreading her wings in the west-fjords. My beautiful home away from home away from home, or maybe just home away from home since I no longer live in Akureyri, but I think the 3 homes is more correct. Yaddíyaddí. Tomorrow or the next I will tell you all what profession I will have there. Those of you who know me can guess... or not, do as you please ;)

Ok, so, quitting (check), polar law (check), Suðureyri (check)... ah yes, I am going to the States tomorrow!!!! MY "HOME"!!!! I cannot wait. I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it! wíííííí!!! Sooooo, all in all, I think my "big news" is then all in the open.

Changes are good. This is a huge change for me and I´m soooooo excited! Just had to put that in there!

WISH ME LUCK!

I LOVE

I love happiness. I love spontaneity. I love laughing at myself after being a fool. I love decisions that I make that I know are right. I love epiphanies. I love the snow but only when it is white and not gray because then it is polluted. I love the earth. I love waking up on a cool sunny morning. I love uncontaminated nature. I love natural people. I love true friends. I love my family with its flaws. I love flaws because they help me learn and become a better person and they make the person unique. I love uniqueness. I love the feeling after I exercise and my muscles ache. I love to smile, laugh and cry. I love disappointments because then I know things can only getter better. I love art. I love my guitar and the blisters I get when I try to make beautiful sounds. I love candlelight. I love playing with clay. I love water. I love making people happy. I love making people feel safe. I love being a best friend, sister, daughter, granddaughter and cousin. I love music. I love sleeping with my window open. I love learning all of life’s lessons. I love figuring out and going my own way.

I love being me. Being me, making decisions for me, caring for me.

I love to love. I hope you love to love too.

The homecoming

I have news... BIG news... my man Óli´s back.

Yes, for those of you who thought I would be a spinster for life, I proved you wrong. My man has come home and it didn´t take too long. You will no longer see this sad and confused face, the face that´s been waiting and longing....

Some of you don´t know Óli. Óli is a head. Only a head. I will tell you a story about Óli, one that touches the heart. You see, we are both x-swimmers and we met in Iceland, Sundhöll Reykjavíkur to be exact. I first spotted him when he was getting ready for a big event. He was getting ready to swim the 50 m. freestyle. His coach helped him with his yellow swim cap, put on his goggles, carried him to the starting block and when that gun went off he lightly kicked him off the block into the pool. AND OFF HE WENT!!! Óli, man, HE was soooooo fast and REALLY kicked ass! He took the flipturn like no other and swam like a rocket back but before he finished, HE STARTED SINKING! I was like, "OH NO! ÓLI!!!" His coach jumped into the pool and got him. He was all right when he came up, he was quite out of breath and was panting. When his coach asked him... "Óli, what happened?!" Óli replied... "MY EARS JUST GOT SO TIRED!"

As I said... Óli is just a head.

And we have the greatest time. I love my Óli.

I feed my guy too, obvious reason being that he has no hands, but still, so romantic! MAN, we have such a good time together! I want to take this chance to point out the fantastic fruit bowl on the table. That is a masterpiece that the one and only Hildur Sólveig made... just wanted to point that out ;) Good old ceramics class;)

It started snowing today here in Akureyri. This little lady had not picked up her man yet, so I had to change my tires all by myself. Yes, the "nails" are on. Did I mention THAT I DID IT ALL BY MYSELF? I am still waiting for my golden star to arrive for the good job I did. Yeps, still waiting... Sara helped a little bit, dragged one or two tires into the house. ;) But yes, Óli loves the snow! He insisted that I take a picture of him in the snow. He´s such a silly silly guy... ;)

No more sad faces... just happy ones!
It didn´t take long for me to find my man...
I JUST HAD TO MAKE HIM! hahaha!

færslan hennar Solveigar Friðu

- I have a best friend who lives in Denmark.
- Her name is Sólveig Fríða Kjærnested.
- Her man´s name is Tryggvi Guðjón Ingason and I often call him Trausti. He doesn´t think it´s funny, neither do I. It just has something to do with the Tr. Sometimes I mix up names if they begin the same. Like Hörður and Hjörtur. They don´t really begin the same but I mix them up nonetheless.

- Sólveig Fríða and Tryggvi have a beautiful little baby girl whose name is Ásdís Sólveig. They really wanted to name her Hildur Sólveig but I said "guys, come on, I´m an independent person, and I want her to be that too. Don´t name her after someone, let her be her own self." They went half way and half named her after me. Just me. Not after Sólveig Fríða, not after Sólveig mum whose name is Sólveig, and not after Sólveig Fríða´s grandmother whose name is Sólveig. Just after me. ;)
- Sólveig Fríða and Tryggvi and little Hildur, ehm... Ásdís Sólveig, are greatly missed, dearly missed, terribly missed.
- This is an ode to them.

Hail Sólveig Fríða and Tryggvi and tons of hugs and kisses!!!

These words of wisdom were written my first year here in Akureyri sometime when Sólveig and I were at a coffee house. She was ALWAYS and is ALWAYS on the phone. But being together and enjoying each other´s company is the main thing.

"Going to a coffee house is great even though your friend´s on the phone the whole time."

Hello, I love you wont you tell me your name...

I think I should just stop while I’m ahead. My name is Hildur Sólveig and I´m a 22 year old lass that has hip problems. Today it is the left side of my hip. It needs to pop into place, pop out of place or just rest… I don’t know, and I don’t care…. I shouldn’t have to deal with a weird hip. My friend Birna told me to do like Barry Manilow and just get a new one. Who knows, when I am rich I may just have to do that. I would however like to point out the fact that Barry Manelo is old (er) and I am young (er). This is just not fair.

This is him after his hip surgery... what a happy camper!!!

I am sometimes lazy when it comes to sitting in front of my computer and putting my thoughts into words. I will make no excuses. I love you all. ;)

My friend Pálína came to Akureyri this weekend and Pálína, Eva Björk and myself had a blast. We went to a coffee house, got invited to a Polish (I think) party-table, hung out cozy style at my place, went partying and danced our tooschies off, went on a road trip to Mývatn and ate dinner together twice! We had fun. We are fun. Look up fun in the dictionary and you will see this picture.

Me, Pálína and Eva Björk

My ceramics class has finished and now I can go to Punkturinn whenever I want to be crafty. I showed my brother Árni some of my masterpieces via the camera on my computer and he laughed. Stupid fool, now he can rest assured that he WILL get something hand-made for Christmas. You shouldn’t have laughed brother.

I really want to go visit my grandparents soon. Maybe I will just leave one Thursday and spend a long weekend there. That would be fantastic. Grams and gramps are missed.

Welp, I have to get going. Hope you all enjoyed my little post. Remember the words of wisdom at the end of the post.

Adventure Weekend

Rightyó! Well about time I write something down here. That won´t be a problem since I had a WONDERFUL weekend. Friday was a lazy day, recooperating after a 70% exam in Tort Law. On Saturday Sara, Frej and Assar (za Swedes) and I went on a road trip to Mývatn. We were going to try to go to a natural hot spring hidden in a crater, but since it was snowy we didn´t think climbing down a crater was a very good idea ;) Therefore we went to the Mývatn lagoon and stayed there for a couple hours. Haha! Talk about a stary sky! Unbelievable, barely a spot in the black sky that wasn´t covered with salt grain. Beautiful.

Today was pretty cozy, drank coffee, talked to Sólveig Fríða, talked to gramms, looked for international organizations in Africa, did some crosswords and relaxed. Then Sara and I went for a walk in a forest in Akureyri, Kjarnaskógur. Veeerrryyy nice. Got pretty dark while we were there, almost lost my phone bt had a great little walk. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

sunny today... cloudy tomorrow?

When I was younger I saw a tv show where a kid had a rubberband ball. Yes, a ball made out of rubber bands. You find a rubber band, you add it to your ball, your ball grows bigger. I wanted to start my own rubberband ball. I searched the house for rubberbands, stole some from the teachers desk at school, but that wasn´t enough for me to start my VERY OWN rubber band ball. Some other kids who also decided to start a rubberband ball (obviously the cool thing to do) had all gotten so much further than me in their collection so I did the only thing left to do. I made my mum drive me to the store to get "school supplies" aka RUBBER BANDS. Yes, and I bought probably 2 packs of 100 rubber bands. Screw finding the damn things. Why waste time when you can just buy them?

This got me to thinking what an impatiant person I am. When I have a brilliant idea I want to engage in it asap. Maybe not even asap, rather PRONTO. Too bad those ideas aren´t always as well thought out and planned as they could be and at times even seem like pretty stupid ideas. But now I ask you, do we think too much about the decisions we make? Is it such a crime to be sparatic and live in the now? I don´t think so, but the me tomorrow might not agree with me. The me tomorrow will kick me in the shins for making hasty decisions, sparatic decisions, stupid decisions. That´s why I like the me today!!
